When Zachariah left, Ophelia sat on the bed blankly, and was startled by the phone\u2019s ringtone.<\/p>\n
She picked up the phone in a flurry and saw the caller ID was Tassach, guilt flashing across her eyes.<\/p>\n
Ophelia answered the phone, “Hello, Tassach.”<\/p>\n
Tassach asked with concern, “Have you left the hospital?”<\/p>\n
“Yes, I just left today. Tassach, I\u2019m sorry for asking for a two-week leave when I\u2019ve been working there for less than a month. I\u2019d better resign if that bothers you.”<\/p>\n
Tassach smiled and said, “I\u2019ll keep the position for you. It\u2019s not a big deal, so don\u2019t take it to heart. Your health matters. If you still want to go to Shanghai for the orientation, I can keep a place for you.”<\/p>\n
Ophelia went silent.<\/p>\n
About ten seconds later, she replied, “Tassach, I appreciate your help, but please don\u2019t keep a place of the orientation for me. Just leave it to some other new hire.”<\/p>\n
“Alright.”<\/p>\n
“I\u2019m well now, and I can go back to work tomorrow. Do you think it\u2019s OK? Will it cause you any trouble?”<\/p>\n
Tassach chuckled on the other end of the line and whispered, “You fool, just stop worrying. If you feel alright, you may come back to work tomorrow.”<\/p>\n
“Great.”<\/p>\n
“Have a good rest, and try your best to be that ambitious iron lady you used to be. I look forward to working with you.”<\/p>\n
Ophelia smiled. “I see. I won\u2019t allow my personal affairs to interfere with my work.”<\/p>\n

After hanging up, Ophelia went into a trance and said to herself, “Baby, your daddy is determined to marry Cora. It\u2019s not that your mommy wants to quit, but she\u2019s doomed to lose from the beginning in this love triangle.”<\/p>\n
Ophelia had sat on the bed for ten minutes before lying down. She closed her eyes and wanted to take a nap, but failed since her mind was in a turmoil.<\/p>\n
She tossed and turned in bed, and all she could think about was Zachariah. Finally, she fell asleep.<\/p>\n
It was 6 p.m. when Ophelia woke up. If it weren\u2019t for the servant calling her, she would have kept on sleeping. Ophelia had been drowsy all the time since she had got pregnant. Ophelia went into the bathroom to wash up. Then she changed into a baggy dress before going downstairs.<\/p>\n
Seeing Helena already sitting at the table, Ophelia gave a smile and walked towards her. “Helena, are you OK now?”<\/p>\n
“Stop pretending. Since you act so well, why not just be an actress?” Savannah murmured.<\/p>\n
Helena darted her another glance and retorted, “Savannah, Ophelia is pregnant. Can\u2019t you be a little more accommodating? What if you upset her and thus she has a miscarriage?”<\/p>\n
“Mom, it\u2019s not like she\u2019s the only pregnant woman in this world. Cora is also pregnant with Zachariah\u2019s baby. Besides, Zachariah and Cora\u2026”<\/p>\n
The chopsticks clattered on the floor.<\/p>\n
