As a lawyer, this was the first time Audrey had been rendered speechless.<\/p>\n
Fortunately, Kylee had let that go. Otherwise, she would have to flush herself down a plug hole out of embarrassment.<\/p>\n
Kylee and Bryson were both good-mannered, and the way they ate was extremely elegant.<\/p>\n
However, Kylee kept putting food into Audrey’s bowl, which she could not reject at all. She had to finish them all for the sake of politeness. As a result, she became too full to have one more bite.<\/p>\n
After dinner, Kylee showed Audrey around the garden. And then, they came to the movie room to watch a movie.<\/p>\n
Bryson didn’t see Kylee and Audrey when he came out from the gym.<\/p>\n
“Where are my grandma and Audrey?” he asked the servant.<\/p>\n
“They’re in the movie room.”<\/p>\n
Bryson walked towards there.<\/p>\n
In the movie room, Kylee and Audrey were leaning against each other on the sofa, eyes on the huge screen.<\/p>\n
Their intimacy somehow brought some delight to Bryson.<\/p>\n

The next day, Audrey got up early in the morning, took a taxi home to get changed, and then went to the law firm.<\/p>\n
Freddy introduced Audrey to everyone first thing in the morning and put her in charge of the case of Four Seasons Group against QK Architects.<\/p>\n
Audrey opened the folder and checked the files.<\/p>\n
It was a simple civil case.<\/p>\n
The East Side International Community developed by the Four Seasons Group’s East Side Branch was contracted to the QK Architects. But the former delayed the payment for the project for various reasons such as the defective construction.<\/p>\n
For projects like this, architecture firms had to cover the costs themselves before getting paid. But then it snowballed into something that QK could not afford. So the company filed a lawsuit against the Four Seasons Group’s East Side Branch.<\/p>\n
Audrey had learned about this case before. All the relevant information was similar to what she had known.<\/p>\n
After some searching, she found a name.<\/p>\n
Jasmine Levy.<\/p>\n
Audrey texted Jasmine’s ID to someone called “Fleur” on her phone.<\/p>\n
“Help me find out her location and her phone number.”<\/p>\n
Soon, Fleur replied.<\/p>\n
“Coordinates\u2014(probably) Planning Department, 16\/F, the Cordova Group Headquarters, 139******”<\/p>\n
The Cordova Group?<\/p>\n
How could it be the Cordova Group?<\/p>\n
Audrey gave her a call.<\/p>\n
The tone sounded gentle, “Hello? May I ask who I am talking to? ”<\/p>\n
“I’m a lawyer from the Square Law Firm. My name’s Koch.”<\/p>\n
“Lawyer?” she suddenly became vigilant, “What can I do for you?”<\/p>\n
“It’s about the dispute between the QK Architects And Four Seasons Group….”<\/p>\n
Before she could finish her sentence, Jasmine hung up the phone.<\/p>\n
Audrey frowned.<\/p>\n
It seemed that she had to pay a visit to the Cordova Group.<\/p>\n
The Cordova Group got every employee an ID card. Only with the card could they get in the building.<\/p>\n
Audrey didn’t have a card, so the receptionist stopped her.<\/p>\n
“Miss, who are you looking for?”<\/p>\n
“I’m looking for Jasmine Levy of the Planning Department on the 16th floor.”<\/p>\n
“Do you have an appointment with her?”<\/p>\n
Before Audrey replied, a man walked over and looked at her in confusion.<\/p>\n
“Are you Ms. Audrey?”<\/p>\n
“Who are you?” Audrey asked as she looked suspiciously at the man.<\/p>\n
“Mr. Melvin!” The receptionist immediately said as she saw him.<\/p>\n
Melvin nodded and turned to look at Audrey again.<\/p>\n
“I’m Mr. Bryson’s assistant, Melvin Kane. Are you looking for Mr. Bryson?”<\/p>\n
Audrey shook her head.<\/p>\n
“No, I’m looking for Jasmine Levy of the Planning Department.”<\/p>\n
“I see. She’s the vice director.”<\/p>\n
“But I don’t have an appointment with her. I’ll wait outside till she gets off work.”<\/p>\n
“If you’re looking for her, I can bring you up.”<\/p>\n
“Is that okay for you?”<\/p>\n
“Yeah, it doesn’t matter. It’s almost time to get off work.”<\/p>\n
Melvin respectfully brought Audrey in, which shocked the receptionist. After realizing what had happened, the receptionist started to panic.<\/p>\n
That woman seemed to know their CEO well. Did she offend a big shot?<\/p>\n

Jasmine gritted her teeth. “I need time to think about it.”<\/p>\n
“Take your time!” Audrey smiled and stood up. “I’ll give you seven days. Ms. Jasmine, call me after you make up your mind.”<\/p>\n
Then she left the meeting room.<\/p>\n
After she left the room, Jasmine’s phone rang.<\/p>\n
The sudden ringing pulled Jasmine back to reality.<\/p>\n
Seeing the caller ID on her phone, Jasmine felt guilty for some reason.<\/p>\n
“Mr. Melvin. What happened?”<\/p>\n
“Ms. Jasmine, Mr. Bryson wants to see you. Come to his office now.”<\/p>\n
“Alright, I’ll be right there!”<\/p>\n

Audrey left the Cordova Group and went to a nearby restaurant for lunch.<\/p>\n
Just as she sat down and ordered food, her phone rang.<\/p>\n
She saw the caller ID. It was Jasmine.<\/p>\n
“Hello, Ms. Jasmine.”<\/p>\n
Jasmine’s voice was a little hoarse, and she sounded tired.<\/p>\n
“Ms. Audrey?”<\/p>\n
“It’s me. You’ve made up your mind?”<\/p>\n
“I’ll testify, and I can provide other evidence.”<\/p>\n
Audrey raised her eyebrows when she heard it.<\/p>\n
She didn’t expect that things would go so smoothly.<\/p>\n
“Alright. Let’s discuss the details when you’re not busy.”<\/p>\n
