Stella says, \u201cI knew you were getting a ballotion, so I took your mother\u2019s money and said I would break up with you to mollify her and your father. After I left, I wrote a letter immediately and had it sent to you. In the letter, I said I would wait for you to come back no matter how long it would take. But the letter was replaced by her before it reached you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now that he thinks about it, many things do seem suspicious. The language in the letter is too sharp to be written by Stella.<\/p>\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t know that a letter would cause some many years of misunderstanding either.\u201d Stella says with a sad smile, \u201cWhen we met again in the hospital, I thought you were angry because you blamed me for not discussing the matter with you in advance.\u201d<\/p>\n
